LOCATION
Our location
Set against the beautiful backdrop of Red Rock Canyon, Bet Yossef Community Center is on the corner of Durango and Vegas Drive, just off Summerlin Parkway. BYCC is excited to join a neighborhood rich in Jewish resources, including the Adelson Educational Campus, Temple Sinai, the Chabad of Summerlin, and Smith's Kosher Experience, and to help the Jewish community grow.
Our Facilities
Sanctuary and Social Hall
This is a gathering place for our community to connect, daven, and celebrate together. As the crowning centerpiece of Bet Yossef, this spiritual space will outfit our services, lectures, and other events. Adjacent to our on-site kitchens (dairy and meat), this open-plan space is ideal for hosting simchas and other joyful occasions.
BYCC Academy
We take care of our little ones with lots of love by providing them with plenty of space to play, learn, and grow. Here, infants and toddlers learn to love their culture and heritage from an early age. Learn more here.
Library and Bet Midrash
As a haven for study, our library is a vital resource for anyone exploring Judaism. Our books, periodicals, and audio/visual materials cover a range of time periods, from ancient writings to contemporary poetry, from Moses the prophet to Maimonides, from Herzl to modern-day Israel. Within such a wide backdrop honoring our roots, this space is ideal for discourse, whether informal meetings or kevruta (one-on-one study).
Meeting Spaces and Classrooms
We are offering programs for all ages including parenting workshops, after-school enrichment classes, and community meetings. These membership opportunities, available to Jews from all walks of life, ensure that we honor our heritage and preserve it. Learn more about our programs here.
Mikvehs/Ritual Baths
We are proud to open two mikvehs or ritual bathing areas for our members. Separately, men and women will enjoy our elegantly decorated mikvehs as a repose for cleansing spirituality. Immersion in the mikveh waters (which are said to connect heaven and earth) provides a gateway to purity (a tradition that is thousands of years old) and a haven for reflection.
At Mt. Sinai, the Israelites were commanded to bathe in collected rainwater, to purify themselves, before participating in a service at the Holy Temple. Our mikvot have channels of wood and stone that are set up to collect and deliver rainwater. Additionally, we have an intricately designed purification filter set up underneath the mikveh facility. We welcome members to take in the waters, pray, and meditate.
